Our Services

On Duty Chimney Service sweeps all types of flues including gas, wood, and pellet. Sweeping a chimney annually is your best protection for preventing chimney fires in your home. This ensures safe and efficient operating conditions through your entire system. Creosote/pellet dust are dangerous and very flammable product that create build-up in the venting system. Oil and Gas flues should also be inspected and if needed swept to allow proper venting throughout. It is a good practice to remove the very acidic oil/gas build up from the flue which can deteriorate the inner lining of your masonry flue.
On Duty Chimney Service conducts all the repairs your chimney and venting systems need. This includes but not limited to the repair and/or installation of the following (if something is not listed here please call and we can probably accommodate your needs):
  • Crown ( top of your chimney)
  • Cap installation (all stainless steel)
  • Stainless steel reline of all fuels
  • Repoint and rebuilding of masonry chimneys
  • Water seal entire chimney
  • Flash seal
  • Lead repair
  • Cracked flue tile can be repaired in place or removed and replaced with stainless steel liner or heat shield product.
  • Fireplace repair complete restoration on the entire system including flue and smoke chamber with our Heat shield products, this will bring you long lasting safety back into your home.
Inspections are another very important service that we provide which will catch problem areas that if left undetected can turn into much bigger problems. It is extremely important to take these preventative measures to protect the integrity of the flue. These inspections should be conducted when purchasing a new home and annually to ensure safety. Problems can lead to complete blockages of the flue which allows smoke, fire, and carbon monoxide to leak or pour into you home creating an unsafe environment. We conduct a 3 level NFPA inspection system to ensure top quality results with the industry’s leading education and state of the art camera inspection system.
Sweeping your venting system every year is recommended by the National Fire Protection Association to prevent chimney fires and venting system failures. Inspections should also be performed even if the flue does not need to be swept to ensure nothing has changed since the last use. Water sealing your masonry chimney prevents the water from absorbing into your bricks and freezing during the cold months. This can cause spauling or break down of the face of the brick which begins to chip off the bricks. Crown sealing is a newer product that creates almost a rubber like masonry cover to prevent break down of the crown mortar preventing cracks that can allow water to run straight down into the home interior. A full stainless steel cap covering the entire top of your chimney is highly recommended to keep all animals out and prevent rain from deteriorating the crown and the interior flue. With this cap, rain is diverted off the top of the chimney and to the ground not running down the chimney allowing it to possibly run behind the siding or worse into your home. Flash seal is used to cover your lead flashing offered as a cheaper alternative to completely replacing your lead flashing (costly) in the event that your lead flashing needs repair.
We sell some outstanding stove products! All new stove products. These include Pellet, Wood, and Gas stoves, which include both free standing and inserts. All Stainless steel relining or cast in place lining systems are standard and required with any new installation. We also have hearth pad options as well. They can be custom ordered to fit any area. We do it all at your one stop stove shop!

  • This is the second time we have had Brian and his crew. All four men :Kyle, Brent, John and of course, Brian, the owner, were on time, professional and very courteous. This first time Brian came was to assess installing screening on the chimney and check the flue, as we had had a major problem with birds getting in and damaging our new furnace. He also checked the dryer vent and checked in the attic -above and beyond what he needed to do. I was very pleased and asked him to come back and do the installation. He sent Kyle and Brent back. They were fast, thorough and professional.

  • Bryan is a total professional. Bryan and his colleague were polite, efficient, and knowledgeable in answering my questions and completely clean around the house. I am really impressed with their efforts to keep my house clean. From the moment they came in my house they used drop cloths to walk through. They never set foot on my carpet. They were respectful and took the time to answer my questions. Bryan also took a look at my furnace flue as a courtesy to me. I would have no hesitation in recommending On Duty Chimney Sweep for anyone wanting these services, and I believe also that in my area, he is the only certified chimney sweep

  • This is my second year using On Duty Chimney Sweep, and once again I was very pleased. Two people came out, and went over the details of what I was expecting for service. They brought in their equipment and carefully and respectfully moved what items of furniture needed to be moved, and laid covering down so that they wouldn't dirty the floor. They were very attentive to the insert and cleaned the liner. They gave me some very good feedback on the condition of the insert and liner, as well as my burning habits. They were very professional, and put everything back in its place that they had moved. As a nice final touch they even cleaned the glass to the fireplace door.

  • On Duty Chimney Sweep was a very professional and knowledegable. Cleaned chimney with state of the art equipment, but also had to remove remnants of a brush left by the last person who cleaned chimney (which caused a fire). Bryan inspected the chimney and advised me of its condition after the fire. He found no fire-related damage and gave a complete accounting of what residues and quantities thereof that he found inside the chimney -- invaluable information to those of us who heat with wood; it tells us how efficiently and safely our system has been running. He conducted what is a very messy trade in a meticulous manner, covering surfaces and cleaning up completely after each operation: chimney, flue, and cleanout trap.
